Quost NewsDomain Name Console UpgradeWe have just completed a major upgrade to our Domain Name Website. The new Domain Registration Console provides additional features and cheaper prices to our customers. Mail Server UpgradeOur Mail Server has been successfully moved to new and faster hardware. New ServersWe have just ordered two new super-fast Xeon dualcore Servers from ThePlanet. These new servers will allow us to update our existing WebHosting servers to the latest hardware and software and to provide updates, improved stability and bandwidth for our Mail Server. Services, customer websites and email will be migrated to the new servers in the next month or so. No interruptions to WebServices are expected, however there will be some scheduled down-time when we migrate the MailServer to the new hardware. Mail Block listsIn order to help reduce the amount of email spam, we have implemented the use of several Block Lists. The lists that we are using include Spamhaus, SpamCop and njabl, any domains or IPs listed on these lists will not be able to send email to or from our Servers. We expect that this will help to significantly reduce the amount of spam email sent to our customers. Server Hardware UpgradeIn order to provide the best service to our customers we have ordered new hardware to upgrade our Wyvern Server. The new Dual Xeon server has double the RAM, faster HardDrives and more Data Bandwidth then the old system. We will migrate customer's WebSites to the new machine over the next few weeks. Both servers are configured the same and will run simultaneously, so there will be no interruption to service while accounts are moved to the new hardware. New Prices on Domain NamesVia our new Domain Registration system, we have lowered the prices on a range of domain names. Check our discounted domain name prices on our Domain Name Website. New Domain Registration SystemOur newly launched Domain Name Registration system provides even cheaper domain name registration and renewal prices! Bandwidth UpgradesWe have modified our pricing structure so that all accounts, even those hosted on our new Australian servers, are allocated the same amount of monthly data transfer. Our new Australian servers are especially useful for businesses who's customers are mostly located in the Australia-Pacific region. New Australian ServersWith addition of new WebHosting servers, Quost now offers our customers the choice between Quality International Bandwidth and Premium Australian Bandwidth. Quost's Premium Australian Bandwidth is provided mainly for Australian based Customers, and Australasian Internet users will benefit the most from this lighting fast local bandwidth. Server and Network Upgrade CompleteWe have just completed extensive server hardware and network upgrades. All our shared WebHosting servers have been upgraded to dual CPU machines. All the servers have ample RAM (usually 1GB or more), and dual SCSI HardDrives. This means our hosting customers get even better performance. We have also brought 3 new WebServers online, all on our new high speed high reliability network. All WebHosting plan Disk Space and Data Transfer allocations have been significantly increased. Linux Un-Metered Plans sold outWe have strictly limited the number of Un-Metered on each server. While this means clients get the best performance, we do not have a large number of plans to offer. The special Un-metered plans on our Linux servers have now sold out, and Un-metered plans are only available on our Windows 2000 servers. New Specialist Windows 2000 ServerWe have a new Windows 2000 server online. This new system has been specifically configured for those customers requiring .NET or FrontPage hosting. New WebHosting PlanWe have introduced a new budget plan, that includes database access, extra domains and other features. The Postcard Plus plan is designed for those people who would like budget hosting, but also need database access for their website. WebSite UpdateA new version of our WebSite, has been completed and is now online. Because all of our services run the same services and applications, we no-longer have specific Windows 2000 and RedHat Linux information. Customers can select which OS they would like to be hosted on after they complete the order form. New Linux ServerA new RedHat Linux server is now online, and this newer, faster, system will replace the old Linux server.
